Seed Catalogs Abound!

Hey Y'all,

We have our heads buried in seed catalogs this time of year as we plan for the upcoming growing season and all it's glory. We bemoan varieties that have been discontinued and oohh and ahhh at new varieties to try out this coming year. These past few days of warm weather have us all tricked to think we are very far behind the curve, the smell of warm moist soil and the warm sun on our faces, alas we have to remember that it is still mid January and there is plenty of winter left. The farm season looks so nice all planned out in the spreadsheets but we know from experience that this is simply a rough guide and we will need to be on our toes to enlist instant changes to respond to markets, weather, and the realities of running a diversified market farm. In all the winter reminds us of the cyclical nature of things as we all draw closer to home hearth to be with family and friends, to read, write, and ponder before the longer days and more intense sun draws our lives back outside to the fields.

Stay Warm,
Nic
