I suppose it is summer now

Well it happened. With a windy day at the end of May we broke the cloudy rainy spell and it is summer for sure. Temperatures today will approach 90 with that for sure tomorrow and with strong winds. All the crops are loving the abundance of sun and warmth that have come in with growth resuming in earnest after a couple weeks of clouds. Your farmers are rushing around in the June Crazyness which I wrote about a couple posts ago. June is also when we move into two markets a week till Mid October. We will be setting up the Beavers Market Farm Stand(corner of Mtn Ave and Shields) today from 4pm till 8pm for all your produce needs. Of course offerings will change and different stuff comes off the farm. This week we have kale, collards,  rainbow chard, arugula, salad mix, a bit of head lettuce, radishes, and hakurei turnips and possibly some veggie starts.

We just thinned the first round of carrots and will be hopefully planting sweet potatoes this week! Garlic is growing like crazy. Cut Flowers and sun flowers transplants were planted out last night and we will have to start trellising those heirloom tomatoes very soon before they get out of hand.

Well time to go weed and water....

See you at market!
Nic
