A new house and a new farm.

This will be our 4th season as a farm and we have some exciting news to announce to our members and community as we grow and evolve. The exciting news this year is that we will be able to live where we farm(at least half of it) and we will be able to host a few events at the farm as well. We bought a chile roaster so that we can do a members chile roast late summer at the farm.  We will continue to cultivate the leased land on Shields St and will be operating the other half of the operation and our house at the corner of N Taft Hill Rd and CR 54G(old 287). The two farms are very near each other which will reduce the amount of driving to and fro, great for everyone involved!
The farm at Taft is somewhat of a local historic landmark in the Ft. Collins farming community. Alot of the market regulars may remember Virgil Scott and Scott's Garden, he sold at the Larimer County Farmer's Market up until a few years ago. His garlic and garlic braids are famous around the are as the best and most well adapted and we are excited and honored to be carrying on a few of his varieties which have been grown in the area for over 30 years.  Years ago he used to host school children on hay rides and tours and teach folks about where there food comes from, long before it was hip to do so. We were honored to be asked to live and farm here and look forward to what this new development means to the farm. A more efficient, calmer, and sustainable farm as we look toward our future farming in the area.
Also exciting for us is the fact that we will be sharing a small amount of the space here at the Taft Farm with Beth Dillon, whom runs a small Neighborhood CSA in Town called Zunomi Farm.
We are also thrilled that we will have some Raspberries this year which came with the farm land we are leasing.

Stay tuned: I plan to update y'all on our current land search for a long term location in the Ft. Collins area!

See you at Market,
Nic
